The Last Autumn

Prologue ……
For You in Full Blossom(Hana Kimi) was it!!! I don’t know why I hated dramas like this one. There could be unexplainable reasons behind this. While I continued to ignore, there my classmates enjoyed watching it, the drama series. Some felt like they were in great 7th heaven. I don’t know what have drawn them to it. It’s just that I couldn’t feel the feeling they’ve got. They said suave things about Wu Chun , who was given the role of Zuo Yi Quan. At first, everytime my classmates talk about it certain words are just in my mind. “ How about I try?,” would I ask. This would, perhaps, let others say I was overreacting. But that’s not it. They were even the ones who encouraged me to take even just a glance of watching the drama series myself as they often say, “ C’mon, Michiru, you wont regret it.” Unfortunately or be it appropriate to say fortunately, what really captivated me is not a something…..but SOMEONE. As the drma series progresses, vague feelings are fighting within me and well, got me confused. I just didn’t pay attention to any of these feelings. Well, maybe, I was just way too excited to watch it or could it be to someone whom I was. Something or someone? Hanakimi or Wu Chun, the male lead himself? Arghhh….I just don’t know what to answer. Bu zhi dao!!! Bu zhi dao!!! As days passed, these ambiguous feelings which really took my toll and confidence became…..well, CHAO XI HUAN NI!! Well, I have learned this Chinese sentence not long after I’ve started to be a great or an avid fan of Wu Chun……

First chapter…..The onset of the unexpected…



“Hey, it must be a nice drama series. I couldn’t wait to watch it, “said by an excited student.
“Yeah, this time I wouldn’t have any absences. Not just it will be a blast but the actor who’ll portray the main male protagonist is so handsome and at the same time my CRUSH…..sigh….,”said by another student that is likely to be hallucinating.
“Excuse me, what did you just talk about is just a waste of your time being as students. That drama series will just lead you into getting low grades!” their sober classmate exclaimed.
“Hey, we’re not like you who are as bookworm as you,”
“Not only you’re a loner but saturnine as well. Could you sometimes be a happy-go-lucky person?”
“Shut your mouth up! I am a student with a profound determination in my studies. One more thing, why do you go into such lengths when in fact the actor in that drama doesn’t know even your name?” remarked by the sober.
As Michiru, their sober classmate, was leaving….” You know you’re such a loser,” whispered by the two.
Michiru got home. That night, she sat by the window and recalled what she had told her best friends. She stares at the starry sky and thought of something. “I think I shouldn’t always go and sit with books on my table. I must have time for myself such as bonding with my friends. That would be better perhaps,” she murmured. The little pot with only a few leaves that have started to wither and fall from its branch caught her attention. “Oh my..! I’m so sorry Bunny. For so long I haven’t notice that you are about to wither. All of your leaves are about to fall. 1…2…3…4…5…. There are five leaves left. That would mean I already have a little time left…,” the disrupted Michiru stated.
In the classroom the commotion of the students made Michiru into looking what was there. There, the students talked excitedly about the drama series. This made Michiru displeased as always. However, she came into an idea what really was there in that drama that have drawn lots of people. “I think I have to watch it myself and observe especially that male protagonist they have been talking about,” Michiru said in herself. The class dismissed. Michiru was getting back home with a line drawn on her face.
That day was a no-class day so Michiru got the chance to do what she planned. She watched the drama especially the main male protagonist. “I think there is nothing in that person that impresses me much. However…hmmm…honestly…the drama was quite good,” Michiru commented. Eventually, Michiru has used to watch the drama everyday night as well as the actor. Michiru watched and watched without noticing something was happening within herself.
That same night she had a dream. She dreamed of a man she never expected to meet. In her dream she and the man were starting to get to know each other and thus a new friendship was blooming. Not long after, the pair then realized that what they feel towards each other is love. However, before they confessed what they feel for one another consequent circumstances and hardships tested their relationship as secret lovers. Moreover, the pot by her window is often associated in that dream. This would be her dream often which always ends up Serenity wondering.

Second Chapter….Confusing, ambiguous feeling


As the story of the drama series progresses, the feeling which at first, unnoticed by Michiru became apparent bit by bit. She would ask and say “What is this feeling that I don’t understand? What is this feeling towards him? Anyway, all I know right now is I’m going to support Wu Chun all the way as he is pursuing his career as an artiste.”
Michiru’s liking to Wu Chun, the actor who played the role of the male protagonist, would have been unrecognizable when she is in school not until she slipped her tongue that made her classmates into suspecting her. “What are you chatting about there? Will you please lessen your noise? It could be heard by our neighboring classrooms that would destruct them,” Michiru remarked.
“Well, we’re just having our group discussion here,” a student responded.
“What group discussion?” Michiru asked.
“What else but the drama series of course ‘For You In Full Blossom’,”
“What…’For You In Full Blossom’?!” Michiru exclaimed. She instantly became very silent and likely to be at a deep thought which made her classmates to wonder why.
“Hmmm…I don’t think our Ms. Gloomy is still gloomy. Sounds interesting eh,”
“No,no,no,no….I just ask about what disgusting topic you’re sharing among yourselves with….Why?....Is there something bad about that?” the shy Michiru responded at once.
“I don’t think so,”
“Better get going. See you!”
Michiru immediately rushed off like she had nowhere to go. “Shocks…it was near…thank you so much Lord,” Michiru sighed. But one of her best friends blocked in her way and frankly interrogated her,” Hey, tell me, are you already fond of watching the drama series? Ha..ha..ha..Then that would mean something new in your life. Believe me, putting such thing in your life in a way will make your life more colorful not only being as student but yourself as a whole, okay?”
“Overreacting, eh,” Michiru commented at once.
“It might be that way but I know someday you will thank me of my kindness,” her friend said.
One day, a huge opportunity came. This opportunity was the concert of the Fei Lun Hai, the singing band where Wu Chun is a member of.
“Michiru, I have big news for you. The Fei Lun Hai is going to have a concert,”
“What……..Yippee… Where will it be,”
“That is the problem. I think we can’t get to see them personally since the concert will not be held here in our country,”
“That is not a problem! I can go overseas so that I could get a chance to see them especiallyChunchun,”
“What about me?”
Michiru proceeded to her room like an unconscious person. She sat by the window looking at her pot and said,” "Chun, at long last I will be meeting you and getting to know you more. I will be following you there in your country. Just wait for me…..1…2…3…4…oh no down to four leaves.”

Third Chapter…Luck and challenges afoot


The time came for her departure. Her best friends accompanied her to the airport. From there the friends bade their goodbyes to Michiru. As soon as Michiru was inside the airplane, she thought of something. She worried if she would be able to meet Chun and establish friendship with him. She worried how Chun would treat her whether to accept her or to ignore her. She didn’t have enough courage to see him. However, the pot of only a few leaves left which she also brought with her reminded her of what she was really up to. She remembered that she promised herself that before the last leaf would fall it would signify that she must have found her true love. After a couple of hours she had arrived. She proceeded to a hotel where she could stay temporarily. She was very excited for the concert was scheduled that same day. As soon as she stepped in to her room she jumped and shouted with excitement. However, a big noise along the corridor made her wonder and so she looked to what was there. There, many people pushed and surrounded a man as if wanting to touch him which caused the ruckus. Michiru, who was only from a few steps back, wondered and commented, “Who are they up to? Is that man a celebrity? I don’t think so. Perhaps he would be. Anyway, I can’t see him from here so he might be one.” Michiru just went back inside her room and immediately prepared for the concert.
At the concert, she brought her camera. She strolled around since the concert hasn’t started yet. After a couple of minutes the private car of Fei Lun Hai has arrived. She immediately came near to have a closer look and have picture of her idols especially Wu Chun. However the commotion not only dropped her down but her camera has also damaged. She felt the hurt on her knee and then a tall, fair-skinned, and handsome man helped her stand up. Upon looking who he was, she stopped as if she froze…
“Are you alright, Miss?” Chun asked.
“…….Hmmm..Hmmm..Yes..Yes…I’m just okay,” Michiru responded.
“Since your camera is destroyed, I’ll just fix this up and will give it to you later, okay?”
“No..No..I’ll fix it myself,”
“No. I will be the one to fix this,”
Chun winked at Michiru and left together with other members of the band leaving only Michiru who was still shocked to what happened.
The concert finished. Meanwhile, Michiru has enjoyed the concert so much. After the concert, she immediately went to her room and took a bath. Upon taking her bath, someone knocked at the door. She rushed off and opened the door. When she opened it, Chun was there bringing with him Michiru’s camera.
“Chun?! Why are you here? How do you know where am I?” Michiru nervously asked.
“I just want to return your camera. Actually, we’re just neighbors. My room is just there next to your room. Why I know you’re here is because of that friend of yours who called you by your name. At first I just ignored it but when I found out, luckily, you really are. Just don’t tell anybody about this because if you do, you too will be disturbed by the people outside, okay? Again you’re Michiru, am I right?” Chun stated and asked.
“Me? Oh, sorry! I am. Hmmmm…so you’re the one crowded by lots of people, yesterday.”
Not only Michiru was lucky but a sign of friendship seemed to start growing. Yes, the two of them, Michiru and Chun, were getting along with each other by then. The two always have the time for chatting about their life and other matters. It was likely that her dream was going to be fulfilled! However, when they talked each other Michiru’s diffidence could always be seen. Then, Chun would end up saying his pleasant words. He would say “C’mon, don’t be shy. We’re friends now, right? Just don’t see me as an artiste but just an ordinary person every time we talk.”

Fourth Chapter….A test of feeling


Not until she was reminded by the plant on her pot.
“…Oh…3 leaves left! I must have found my true love before the last leaf will fall. Do you know Bunny that I likely to have my dream be achieved? Just don’t be hurry in falling your leaves down, okay? I just want to be sure that my Chunchun is my true love. I still need time,” she murmured as she is alone in her room together with her pot.
As the two have known more and are concerned about each other to the extent that whenever one is ill the other would try to visit him or her, a very deep relationship emerged. This would end up the two confused whether the relationship they have now is still friendship or the other way around. Moreover, the two just keep this a secret unknowing to the knowledge of the other.
One day an unexpected event happened. Michiru was bothered by a problem. After a couple of minutes, Chun knocked at her door and went inside.
“Looks like you’re having a problem, huh? Tell me,” Chun interestingly asked.
“It’s just that I can’t stay here any longer. I need to budget my money wisely. I might not be able to pay my future bills here. Right now I’m still thinking where to stay,” Michiru sadly answered.
“Uhmmm..uhmm.. Michiru. Actually, since I will be having a short vacation, I will be going home. If you like then, you could stay at my house. Hmmm..Anyway..That is if it would be fine to you,”
“What? My Chunchun offered me to stay in his house. I can’t believe it,”
“What did you say?”
“I said that would be a disaster. Don’t spurt such nonsense,”
“It’s okay. I just only ask you,”
“Actually….Is it okay to you?”
“Well, of course. I think I shall go now. I still have to pack my things,”
“So with I. Chun, thank you,”
The next day Chun and Michiru are ready for their trip. Once, the car bumped along a rocky road. Unexpectedly, Chun accidentally kissed Michiru on her very red lips. Time seems stopping for the two of them. However, the stop of the car ended this scene. This made the two to move cautiously. Not long after, they have reached their destination. With their cheeks blushing so sweetly the two get off from the car. They proceeded to the house immediately.
In the house, Michiru met Chun’s father. At first, he has mistaken them to be lovers. Michiru and Chun instantly defended themselves. Nevertheless, this made the two feel more awkward to one another.
The next morning, they ate their breakfast. Suddenly, Chun’s cell phone rang and at once, he excused himself to answer the phone:o[/b]

Fifth chapter…The final moment


After they ate, Michiru proceeded to her room. There, she talked with her plant which seems a true person. She narrated the things that just happened to her. She also included how she felt when Chun unexpectedly had kissed her. But when she learned that Chun already has a girlfriend, tears ran down from her eyes. She cried silently as if wanting no one to hear her. She was reminded of her plant falling its second to the last leaf. The leaves of the peach blossom outside seem to join her crying as they’re falling from their twigs and branches.
Time seemed giving the two secret lovers nerve-whacking happenings. These would test the lovers’ genuine love for one another. The next morning Michiru woke up very early. She helped in doing the household chores. Afterwards, she went into the garden to have a relaxing stroll. As she was strolling around the garden, not knowing that Setsuna was there waiting for her, astonishingly met her.
“Excuse me. You are Michiru, aren’t you?” Setsuna said in a tranquil voice.
“Yes. I am Michiru. Do I know you?” Michiru cautiously asked.
“For your information, I am Setsuna. I am Wu Chun’s childhood friend. As what I have heard from Endymion, you are one of his closest friends. In addition to that he had told me that you are a nice person. He told me many things about you. Let me ask you. Haven’t you, A PERSON LIKE YOU, realized that you have gone to such lengths to the extent that you just came here just to meet him? How pathetic!”
“What’s the problem about that? I just want to know him more for I am his ,well, his greatest fan!”
“Let me tell you. Never stick to Chun anymore. Never ever dare to approach him again. You’re just a mess in his career that needs to get rid of. For your knowledge, I am his girlfriend. Haven’t he told you about me? Oh, such a pity creature! Anyway, don’t forget what I have just told you. Stay away from him. Otherwise, you have to face me,”
At first, Setsuna’s statements blandished Serenity. But at the latter portion of the conversation, Serenity’s feeling was hurt. Setsuna had uttered words in a gruesome manner. She cried and rushed off. She was packing her things. She said that it would be better for her to go back. She would never be able to see Chun anymore. Meanwhile, Chun, who was just on his way home, had encountered Setsuna.
“Setsuna, why are you here? Is there a problem” asked Chun.
“Yes, there is. And that problem is Michiru. She kept me away from you! She impedes me to have an opportunity to have even a talk with you. She seized you from me! Whenever we talk, Michiru and how she is as a person is always the topic! Don’t you understand that I love you very much?” uttered Setsuna.
“What are you saying? You know for a fact that we’re just friends. Yes, I love you but only as a friend to me. I’m so sorry. I couldn’t give more as you expected from me. The one I love is Michiru and no one else,”
“What?! Then, I’m sorry to tell you that she had left,”
“What have you done? You…. are so woeful!”
Chun walked out and hurried home. He tried to find Michiru in every corner and every place of the house but he couldn’t. He entered Michiru’s room and saw her closet empty. This really distressed Chun. He persisted on finding Michiru. He searched for her anywhere.
On the other hand, Michiru was sauntering and recalled back the happy moments she and Chun spent time together. She remembered the moments of those intimate instances. She has also remembered her coyness in front of her beloved Chunchun. Suddenly, Bunny fell off its last leaf.
“Looks like I failed. I couldn’t love Chun anymore. He really is not my true love. He has already somebody he loves. THANK YOU Chunchun for treating me especially. Thank you for everything you have given me. Thank you for being a nice friend. At least, we are friends right? I didn’t regret anything. What I have experienced is just enough for me. Wherever you are now please, be happy. May you find true happiness . I will really not forget you. You will stay forever in my heart. Good luck and goodbye,” cried Michiru.
While the last leaf was fleeing in the sky….Chun stood at a distance.
“Who said Michiru could not love Chunchun?” Chun yelled.
“Chunchun?! Why are you here? How did you find me?” Michiru wondered.
Chun, without uncertainty hugged Michiru very tightly. Once again the time permits the two of them.
“How I found you is not important. What matters is I LOVE YOU. You are the only woman I want to spend the rest of my life with. From the moment I saw you at our previous concert I could feel that I have found my true love and that is you my beloved Michiru,”
“B..B..But..ahmmm...actually..Wu Chun… I love you too,”
Each other’s lip touches the other while the sunset behind them glimmers as if wanting to appear as golden bunch of satin.
