Favorite Asian Dramas

1. Mars - so far, Mars is my favorite drama overall. It is a Taiwanese drama and it stars Vic Zhou and Barbie Xu whom I ADORE and I LOVE. My very first OTP, way back during Meteor Garden days. Anyway, Mars is AWESOME okay? The actors/ actresses did a great job (*stabs Tong Dao*), the OST is really nice (especially Rang Wo Ai Ni by Vic and Barbie! :’) ), the story is amazing– mostly dark and angsty but it still has cute and funny moments. Words alone cannot describe how good it is ♥

2. Gokusen - is special because it is my very first Jdrama XD Nakama Yukie, who plays Yankumi, is one of the prettiest Japanese actresses I’ve ever seen. I like her a lot, even when I found out that she was the one who plays the role of Sadako in the famous Ring series. LOL. Gokusen is never boring With young, hot boys and a super cool teacher, what could go wrong? And who knew that after Gokusen, Oguri Shun and Matsumoto Jun will become one of Japan’s hottest and most talented young actors? Each episode may be predictable, but who cares? It made me laugh and made me cry. A LOT. And Sawada Shin ♥♥♥ Yep, I ship Yankumi and Shin. Haha. SO MUCH CHEMISTRY. ♥ And so far, Sawada Shin is my favorite Matsumoto Jun character Gokusen 2, however, I didn’t like that much =/ Kame and Jin’s there… but.. but.. the Gokusen 1 gang is much better XD

3. Hotaru no Hikari- Ayase Haruka! Fujiki Naohito! Kato Kazuki! A VERY FUNNY and heart-warming dorama. I like Ayase Haruka in TattaKoi but she was cuter in HnH. Comedy is much suitable for her, I think. TOO KAWAII ^____^ I love her himono-onna-ness because somehow, I can relate XD I also love Fujiki Naohito’s role in this. Thank God his character is not like ProDai’s Tada-sensei T_T His role as the manager is very cute too Hihi~ And this drama introduced me to Kato Kazuki, who I think is the HOTTEST Japanese actor / singe/ rockstar ever. His acting is bad actually. HAHA. But Hotaru and Makoto is such a lovely couple sooooo.. hmm. yeah. ♥ *KILIG* I even made a picspam of Hotaru and Makoto here *click “P*. I LOVE LOVE LOVE both of them Teshima Makoto is my dorama boyfriend <333 I cried when he said he loves Hotaru. Eeeeeeeeeeeee! *sniffs*

4. Hana Yori Dango 1 and 2 - I watched MG first so I already know the storyline but I still enjoyed it. I love HanaDan as much as I love MG. I love Hanazawa Rui SO MUCH OKAY? It’s fine with me if he ends up with Makino.. but the proposal in the end made me accept Domyouji and Makino’s fate LOL. Seriously. I cried lots of times, sometimes because it is touching, sometimes just because of too much laughter. No boring moment

5. It Started with A Kiss - I don’t know why but I actually find dumb innocent heroines cute. Xiang Qin may not be smart (it sounds better than dumb lol), but she’s funny, sweet, and kind-hearted. Zhi Shu, on the other hand, is a genius, doesn’t speak much and arrogant at times. So when these two are together, perfect <3 And forget all those evil dorama parents, parents from ISWAK are the awesome-est parents in the entire universe! Especially Jiang Mama. You will love her for sure ♥ I love ISWAK, it has many laugh-out-loud moments, sweet and dramatic moments too

6. Meteor Garden - I’d be surprised if you haven’t watched MG or if you didn’t know who F4 and Shan Cai is. This is my VERY FIRST ASIAN DRAMA that’s why I LOVE IT and I don’t care if people think it’s worthless and boring, etc. It started my love for Asian series and celebrities such as Vic and Barbie. It is quite long and there are some draggy parts in the middle, but I actually enjoyed every single minute of Meteor Garden Until the end, I am rooting for Hua Ze Lei and Shan Cai but oh well. Of course we all know that she’ll end up with Dao Ming Si XD Low budget + so-so acting + coolest boys on the planet + most beautiful actress ever (IMHO ) + roller-coaster romance + great friendship + hilarious moments + angst + drama = Meteor Garden ♥

7. Tatta Hitotsu no Koi- it reminds me of a Korean drama. Rich girl, poor boy, girl is sick, family of rich girl hates poor boy.. but we still get a happy ending My favorite Kame drama. I swear Hiroto is ♥. Kame smokes too much there but wth, it looks good on him. LOL. Kame is a really good actor, and so far this is his best drama. And his chemistry with Ayase Haruka is like, wow. One of my favorite scenes is the boat scene. Nao’s head is pressed against Hiroto’s chest and Hiroto is playing with her ear and askmdkafldeio. ♥♥ Cliche, yes. But still sweet And funny too! Yuuta is there which is a plus and surprisingly, Erika Toda and Koki looked good together

8. Hana Kimi (TW) - Ella and Chun Quan and Rui Xi are probably the silliest couple I’ve seen. Both of them aren’t really good actors, but they look so cute Especially if you watch the behind-the-scenes special after every episode, for sure you will love them both But actually, I loved Hana Kimi because of Jiro Wang’s Xiu Yi. FUNNIEST CHARACTER. EVER. I love Xiu Yi and Rui Xi’s friendship. But I wouldn’t mind if Xiu Yi ends up with the pretty-girl-who-bakes-cookies LOL. Very funny series. The ending kind of sucks though. And I heard there won’t be a second season T_T

9. Nobuta wo Produce- because it’s about friendship, not just romance. Although Akira and Nobuta were made for each other, LOL. Basta. It was enjoyable. High school life is the best \/ Addicting episodes from start to finish but I was kind of disappointed that Akira ended up with Shuji. Haha! Nobuta power enter!

10. Proposal Daisakusen - my favorite Yamapi drama. “Hallelujah Chance!” We’ve seen stories like this right? Modern time machine. Hihi. I like Eri and Mikio and Tsuru ♥♥ Cute group of friends. Tada-san is scary, Rei is just okay. The ending was okay too, I think. I still haven’t watched the SP.

Sadly, no Kdramas. Kdramas aren’t really my thing T_T Kmovies, sure XD But Kdramas tend to be boring and their stories are pretty much the same. T_T

I would like to include Why Why Love too but I don’t like Rainie Yang that much. However, Kingone is still looooove ♥ Silence and One Liter of Tears are equally good but these two are the type of dramas that you would not watch again because it is too depressing. Sapuri is also a favorite because of Ishida Yuya Liar Game is good because it is the only drama my brother agreed to watch and Akiyama-san is the hottest and coolest swindler in the world <3 Coffee Prince is okay but I was bored during the last episodes so I haven’t finished watching. My Boss, My Hero and Great Teacher Onizuka are both school dramas, and both are hilarious and touching A must-watch for drama lovers

1. They Kiss Again (tw)- currently airing in Taiwan (Episode 19 na mamaya) awwwwww mas kilig ito compared to ISWAK coz Zhi Shu and Xiang Qin are married here....but you have to watch iswak first before watching this para mas maintindihan mo ang hirap na dinanas ni XQ kay ZS.hahahaha

2. ISWAK (tw)- grabe!!!! super funny!!!!

3. Hana Kimi (Tw) - hahahahahahahaha....ilang tao na ang nag convince saken before na panuorin ito....2006 pa pero it wasn't till 2007 that i decided to watch this when japan started to announce that they'll be doing their version. when i saw the synopsis, i decided to watch the tw version....oh boy!!!! first episode palang, natawa nako nung nakita ni Rui Xi si Quan for the first time before inabot ung bag nya....hahahahahahahaha.... i literally had to pause the video sa youtube to give me time to laugh.hahahahahahahaha

4. Hana Kimi (jap) - this drama started it all....it was in this drama where i couldn't wait for the subs to come so i just watched it kahit walang subs....so after nito, pinatulan ko narin ang WWL, Romantic Princess, They Kiss Again at Fated To Love You na panuorin kahit wala pang subs....hahahaha

5. Devil Beside You (tw) - got curious with this drama coz at the time when i was so high on iswak, a lot of people who loved iswak also loved DBY....OMG!!!! mike he is such a good kisser!!!!!!!!

6. Full House (tw) - waaaaaah i really love this drama!!!! when KBS did a rerun of this early this year (or was it late last year?), i still watched it kahit ilang beses ko na napanood.hehehehe

7. Princess Hours/Goong (kor) - a lot of people were informing me that this is a great series but i didn't jump on the bandwagon. again, high ako sa iswak when i saw a post at pex saying that goong has a lot of similarities with goong....that's when i started watching the series....before i knew, i was watching the first 5 episodes straight!!!! hindi pako nakuntento, bumili pa talaga ako ng dvd para mapanood ito sa tv at hindi lang sa computer.hahahaha

8. Romantic Princess (tw)- ok din ito....although nabitin ako sa ending....

9. Why Why Love (tw) - looks promising in the onset and i was so excited for this because of DBY but it became dragging at the middle part....pero ok parin sya saken.

10. Fated To Love You (tw) - currently airing in Taiwan (episode 6 na mamaya)....i was curious about this show coz a lot of those who i've subscribed to at youtube (for taiwanese dramas) were suddenly uploading this. so i watched the first episode....wow it was great!!!! so ngayon, every sunday puyat talaga ako kasi minsan 3am ng monday nako natutulog dahil inaabangan ko ang pag upload ng FTLY at TKA kasi wala kaming destiny cable where you can watch these shows kasi may TTV at CTV channels dun....antay lang ako sa todou at youtube....

11. Kim Sam Soon (kor) - na high ako dito before and this is where i discovered youtube in 2006. hahahaha....super funny talaga ito grabe!!!!

12. Proposal Daisakusen (jap) - waaaaaaaah grabe you guys should watch this!!!! YAMAPI wafu talaga....kamukha medyo ni rustom padilla.hahahaha pero cutie....nice story....he realized that he's inlove with his bestfriend on her wedding day (his bestfriend is getting married to someone else)....so during the wedding reception the fairygod father of the church saw how brokenhearted he is....everytime a picture was shown during the reception (diba sa wedding receptions, usually may powerpoint presentation minsan ng mga pics ng bride with friends, etc) Yamapi would go back in time and change the past in the hope of telling the girl about his feelings....so nababago ang mga events....ang tanong, magkakatuluyan ba sila? weeee panuorin nyo nalang....super bitin ang ending nito kaya buti nalang may Proposal Daisakusen special!!!! weeee!!!! this year lang ata un or late last year ba? basta panuorin nyo!!!!

13. My Girl (kor) - weeee grabe gwapo kung gwapo talaga itong si wookie!!!! gusto ko din ang palabas na ito kasi funny at kilig!!!!

14. Smiling Pasta (tw) - oh my nung una, i tried watching this pero first 5 minutes lang ako dito kasi di ako nagandahan kay cyndi wang at di ako nagwapuhan kay nic teo....but after a few months of being told by my friends to watch this, i tried to watch it and read the synopsis....mukhang ok sabi ko sige na nga....then pagkalaon, grabe ang funny pala?! great ost din!!!!


madami pako pero so far eto ung mga gusto ko talaga.... at magaganda din ang mga OST ng mga dramang ito pramis!!!!

Hana Yori Dango 1 and 2 - first jdorama i've watched and liked talaga!!!! i remember i was in the US when i watched this....boring kasi dun so pag asa house lang, babad ako sa dailymotion....hahahaha....tapos i remember, last week ng princess hours sa pinas, wala ako so buti nalang may nag uupload dati ng tagalized PH....

1 Litre of Tears - grabe literal na 1 litre of tears talaga ang iiiyak mo when you watch this....the lead guy looks like victor basa kaya there was a time na nagka crush ako kay victor basa hahahaha kasi he reminds me of the lead guy here....

pwede ba isama ang filipino dramas? tutal asian dramas din sila....wala lang....eto lang ang mga fil dramas na napanood ko so i can't comment on the others dahil i didn't watch them. i'd rather watch anime, cable channels or other asian dramas.

encantadia - OP ako sa office kasi di ako nakakapanood. so when i decided to watch it, ok pala. dito ko napansin na pwede pala gumawa ng ganito na ok ang effects ang mga pinoys tapos medyo consistent ang story....

mskm - i accidentally watched this while waiting for Princess Hours to air before sa abs kasi eto ang show before PH so dun ko napansin na maganda pala....great acting....although latter half of the series na ang naabutan ko.hehehehe

lobo - galing....like ko ito although di ko nasusundan parang iba kasi sya....daming revelations and twists pero still consistent....

well, out of those sangkaterbs na dramas, i cant elaborate which i love best and why. mababaw lang naman kaligayahan ko when it comes to dramas. pero shempers, gusto ko yung may substance (shabu?). I'd elaborate more on the dramas i like.. i-ta-type ko muna ng maayos... haha!!!

i have many fave asian dramas, so i'll just put all that i enjoyed and still love dramas.

meteor garden 1&2
this series started my kaadikan with asian dramas. i still have my zaizai and f4 merchandises. i still remember how i'm was constantly teased as sancai in school coz of my long hair. and how me and my buddies would hurry up and go to my friends house (the nearest to school) just to catch it.

lovers in paris
at first, i wasn't sure if i'll like it. but then i again i love it. the story was crazy yet funny. and all my friends were crazy about it too. i would stay up late just to watch on abs.

full house
i like the leads here. sorry i couldn't remember her name although i really like her. and rain was so funny. they really have a good chem here.

princesshours
this one was funny. it was a very kilig to the bones show. i remember staying up late just to finish it on youtube, my goodness!!

which star are you from?
a different level of story. i really love this story. it wasn't predictable although the plot was simple it somehow surpass my expectations of how it would come out in the end. and director choi is cute here. ahaha!!

my girl
i really like this story. it was really funny and that it was pure entertainment. do i need to say more? oh yeah! they have good chem and that gilian is so cute!! they even made him come here.

coffee prince
i like this story and in fairness i appreciate the plot and how the characters matured. although i have notice there are quite some boring moments, so i just try to forget it and continue. hehe!!

hana kimi
this taiwanese version is really funny. definitely no boring moments. i like how ella did really look like a guy and it wasn't as complicated as other dramas.

otaku denshu or something like that
not sure of the title but i know there would be a word "otaku" somewhere there. this is the only japanese drama that've seen and like so far. why? it's a story of a hopeless geek who fell for a uber beautiful lady. but wooing the girl of his dreams wouldn't be easy so he finds help from a bunch misfits in the online world. ahaha!! a good show that really made me want to go to japan.

i just finish this drama and if it wasn't for the dvd i might have finish this earlier. anyways, i was really move. i like dramas that inspires me by the way. it wasn't just comedy. it was sending a beautiful message that love comes without asking questions. it wasn't just the age thing or the status in life that determines who are you going to love. weeeeeeee!! dramatic noh!!
