UPDATE ON STATUS: As of right now, it is not an official record, but the 800,000 memership is acknowledged by Guinness (which I think is still commendable!).

J!-ENT (who interviewed TVXQ for their englsih article) asked about the guinness record rumours and after Luffa notified him that it was not confirmed by the company or any reliable newsource except the text messaging service advertised on the Guiness website (http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/records/default.aspx) which stated that their fanclub was the largest....He pursued to use his contact in UK to test it out and text to see if they get the same result. His contact did not use Texperts (which the fans used) but instead texted Guiness World Records (GWR) service directly.

When I sent the question "Who has the largest official fanclub" I got the reply 'Apologies, there is no official Guinness World Record for the largest fanclub in the world.' However, when I sent the question "How many members are in the world's largest official fanclub?" I got a message back saying 'Not official record, but fanclub of Asia's Top Artists group TVXQ, known as Cassiopeia, had over 800,000 official members when last counted.'’

So, although they are acknowledged by Guinness, unfortunately at this time it is NOT an official Guinness Book of World Record. As one has said, possibly this is something being held over for maybe a listing for 2009. But as of right now, GWR says 'Not official record'.

On the article, I decided that I will include the fact that it's acknowledged by Guinness Book of World Records to have the largest membership but will also note that at this time, it is not an official record.

TVXQ VOICES HELPED AWOKE A FAN WHO'S IN COMA.


A miracle happened over at Taiwan a few days ago!

21 years old Zhuang Xiao Han, is a die-hard fan of Korean famous boyband, TVXQ. Last year, she got into an accident and was seriously injured. The doctor announced that she will not be able to live more than 3 days. Zhuang's mum did not give up, she played TVXQ songs 24 hours everyday, and her daughter woke up! Zhuang's mum said, "I really thank TVXQ for letting me see a miracle."

Doctor expresses admiration.

Last year March, around 11pm at night, Zhuang Xiao Han was riding her bike home and got into an accident. She was sent to the Xiao Gang Hospital (小港醫院), doctor said that her head was seriously injured and she will not be able to live more than 3 days.

Zhuang's mum sobs and said, " I know she really likes TVXQ, so I played TVXQ songs everyday, in hope that she will survive. I don't care if she will become a vegetable, as long as she survive." Alas, she survived the 3 days, and was in a coma for 7 months, until one day, she miraculously woke up.

Zhuang's mum smiled and said, "I played TVXQ songs everyday, until the cd player spoilt. When she woke up, the first thing she said to her Dad was, to help her buy TVXQ's new album."

TVXQ will be having a concert at Taipei next month, 10th May 2008. Xiao Han's story spreads around Cassiopeias online. When the organiser of the concert heard of this news, they gave Xiao Han VIP tickets to TVXQ concert, a voucher to stay at Wang Han Hotel (王朝飯店) and a TVXQ album. During the period of her coma, Xiao Han went through a total of 5 operations.

When she received TVXQ Concert tickets, she was so happy and she tried her best to say, "Thank You."

Group DBSK’s members Uknow Yunho and Micky Yoochun took the roles of MC for ‘쇼 음악중심 (Show Music Core)’

On the 25th, on the MBC ‘쇼 음악중심 (Show Music Core)’ that was aired Uknow Yunho and Micky Yoochun replaced Big Bang’s Seungri and Daesung and did the program with Solbi. That day Daesung and Seungri were absence because of a concert they had in Japan.

Micky Yoochun revealed “It’s been a while since we MC-ed so it’s nerve wrecking”.

Popular group TVXQ will be on the same stage as Japan's top artists in this year's NHK's "Love Song 2008."

TVXQ will attend NHK on the fourteenth for their live event "Love Song 2008."

Of course Dong Bang Shin Ki’s legion of fans worship the five idols, but apparently, a lot of other people in the industry think highly of the band as well. Take a gander:

YG Entertainment’s Yang Hyun Sok: Ah! They’re the only singers I admire. TVXQ is really awesome. On the live stage, they do very well. If they weren’t good looking, they would probably be the male version of Big Mama. Some of our country’s bias towards TVXQ is wrong.

SM Entertainment’s Lee Soo Man: It’s really a waste~ The kids who could’ve gone onto their solo careers became a group in the end.

Kim Gun Mo: If only I was a TVXQ member! They’re a group that’s hard to believe, with talent that’s shocking.

Tony An of H.O.T.: After they get onstage, they can bring together all of the audience’s focus. This is the kind of thing we need to bring energy to the music world. From this kind of view, there should be many groups like TVXQ appearing now. It’s not talking about coming out with many groups. More like, there should be more groups with such power to influence. Being able to receive the general audience’s support can also become a good foundation for the entertainment industry.

Kangta of H.O.T.: Although they’re already top stars, their personality is still very good. Compared to when I was younger, they’re really very kind.

Kim Dong Wan of Shinhwa: There are many groups coming out these days, and a lot of them look really good. TVXQ stands out among these groups.

Park Joon Hyung: There were a lot of groups in the music industry during that time that disbanded because there were conflicts between members. Today I walked in and saw TVXQ, and knew that nothing like that would happen.

G-Dragon of Big Bang: Because we’re in different genres, I’ve never seen them as a competitor. TVXQ is our respected sunbae. Their vocal skills are strong, and we’ve studied much of their performances and choreography. I’ve watched them stay determined to push themselves forward. They really are the perfect sunbaes.

Taeyang of Big Bang: TVXQ has always chased after different music styles, and their members all have very strong talents. Seeing TVXQ’s music and stage makes me feel touched, and they’re a very good influence on us. We’ve also started promoting in Japan, and compared to TVXQ sunbaes, we still have to secure a place. We all like TVXQ very much. We hope this time we’ll use the chance to become more intimate with the members.

FT Island: TVXQ sunbaes are very modest. Although they’ve already become Asia’s top idol group, we respect the humbleness they display at all times.

Jonghyun of SHINee: Out of all our sunbaes, TVXQ doesn’t hold back, they’ve done very well. Especially to TVXQ’s Micky Yoochun, I’m very thankful. The first time we went onstage, he came in person to bring food over to support us, I was really thankful that time.
